Former Celtic winger Patrick Roberts could be on the move again during the January transfer window, according to website Football Insider.
The outlet believes that his loan deal at Norwich City, which hasn’t proven fruitful so far, is about to be ripped up. This would allow him to make a move to English Championship side Middlesbrough in the second half of the season.
However, some Celtic fans want to see the Scottish champions add him to the squad again as competition for James Forrest on the right wing.
Forrest is having a great season but has no recognised back-up available right now, with the signing of Marian Shved not working out like most people hoped. The Ukrainian has played just 35 minutes of football this season under Neil Lennon.
Roberts and Forrest had a healthy rivalry during the Man City’s man initial loans at the club and a return would significantly boost the depth and quality of the Hoops attack.
Things haven’t quite worked out for the player since leaving Celtic, with a failed spell at Spanish club Girona following before his recent ill-fated move to Norwich, where he’s made just four appearances.

Some Celtic supporters are very keen to see the club make another move for him, taking to Twitter over the last few days to share their thoughts on it all…
