Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte doesn’t see Celtic loanee Cameron Carter-Vickers as part of his long-term plans, the Scottish Sun reports.
Spurs sent Carter-Vickers to Parkhead for a season-long loan spell back when Nuno Espirito Santo was in charge. However, he was swiftly replaced by Italian great Conte back in November.
Tottenham have struggled at the back this season with Conte under pressure after an underwhelming start to life in North London. But the Sun reports that he doesn’t view Carter-Vickers as the solution to his problems and that Spurs will be pleased to finally get him off the wage bill.

The report states that Tottenham value the player at £10m and that the prospect of Champions League football would be extremely attractive to the USA international with regards to staying permanently.
It comes days after SBI Soccer reported that Leicester, Wolves, Bournemouth, and Watford were all eyeing summer moves for the player.
The Sun reports that Carter-Vickers could be tempted by Bournemouth if they secure promotion. And they also claim that Watford would be appealing to the player given their close proximity to Spurs.
Cameron Carter-Vickers has plenty to ponder ahead of Tottenham return
The introduction of EPL teams into the mix was always going to be a problem for us. However, it still remains to be seen if any of it is genuine and whether any of the clubs mentioned will indeed make some moves.
It probably only heightens the importance of winning the league this season. If we can secure Champions League football then it automatically makes Celtic look like a much more attractive sell for potential recruits.
Carter-Vickers knows how good things can get at Parkhead, but he’s yet to taste European success. If we get ourselves into the highest level of European football next season, that’s surely going to be enough to persuade him to stay.

It’s clear that he has no future at Tottenham in any case. Conte doesn’t appear to want him and that means any dream he had of heading back to the North London.
But nobody truly knows how he feels about the potential interest from the EPL. Regardless of how much he’s enjoying his time at Parkhead, we all know what can happen when the English riches are flashed in front of players.
Regardless, for now, it’s important that his head is fully in the game. We need Carter-Vickers to be absolutely on it from now until the end of the season. Any thoughts of what lies ahead in the long-term need to be put to rest for the time being.
