Report suggests Napoli aren't out of the race to sign Kieran Tierney
Celtic left-back Kieran Tierney could leave the club even after Arsenal lose interest.
Serie A giants Napoli are still wanting the Scotland international in their ranks.
However, it’s more complicated as they have to sell in order to buy. The Scottish Sun report the light blues are looking to move Mario Rui on.
Kieran Tierney Napoli interest heats up
They’ve been lurking in the background during the whole Tierney to Arsenal saga.
Napoli are watching the ongoing toing and froing between the Scottish and English giants.
A rejected move of around £25 million with add ons was the latest offer turned down by Celtic. This is the Gunners’ second bid for the 22-year-old.
Nevertheless, Napoli are waiting in the wings to try and persuade the Hoops themselves.
Some will call it smart by the Italians to wait until a bid is accepted by another club and then offer more money.
Alternatively, Napoli will be fully aware now of how much Celtic want for Tierney.
It is football after all, and if one goes in, another must come out and that’s Napoli’s situation. They are looking to move on Portuguese left-back Mario Rui.
Kieran Tierney move depends on Mario Rui transfer
The 28-year-old defender is wanted by Inter Milan in this window.
It’s not known how far down the line a possible transfer is.
The Scottish Sun are reporting that Carlo Ancelotti fears he may lose Tierney due to Rui’s transfer saga.
Rui, a journeyman left-back, isn’t cheap despite his many clubs.
Ancelotti is one of the most respected and revered managers in the world. He knows the value of Tierney and what he will do for him on the pitch.
However, the move is out of his hands at the moment as he waits on the transfer gods to do their work.
