Former Celtic midfielder Youssouf Mulumbu could be making a return to Scotland, The Scottish Sun report.

The paper say that the former Hoops man is on the radar of Scottish Premiership Aberdeen, who are keen on adding a midfielder to their struggling squad.

Mulumbu was signed by Brendan Rodgers at the end of a controversial 2018 summer transfer window but never really looked like having the confidence of the former Celtic boss.

The DR Congo international made just three appearances before being subsequently loaned to Kilmarnock in January.

The midfielder’s switch to the Hoops always seemed a bit of a desperation move on our part and it was no surprise to see him move on pretty quickly.

His contract, which was due to run until 2020, was terminated during the summer after it became clear he had no future in Neil Lennon’s team either.

Prior to joining up at Celtic Park he was an accomplished top-flight perform in Scotland, so it’d be interesting to see if he could become that player again at Aberdeen.

Thankfully we have a robust midfield that make his future nothing but a curiosity to fans. No-one is missing him at the Scottish champions.
