It has not been a good week for Celtic. The 4-3 loss to Cluj which saw the club exit the Champions League was a hammer blow to the club.
The Hoops are in need of some good news to get the fans back on side. A major signing or new contract for a player would be a way of doing that.
New deal would provide fillip for support

The Daily Record may provide the fillip that Celtic fans need. They are reporting that the Hoops are set to offer Kristoffer Ajer a new contract to keep him at the club for years to come.
That move would be welcomed by the Hoops support. Like many of team-mates, Ajer didn’t have the best of games against Cluj.
Been in excellent form this season

However, he has been in excellent form for the most part this season, and for the second-half of last season. He is a man that Celtic should be building the team around for years to come.
Therefore, it makes sense for the Hoops to offer Ajer a new deal. He has shown his versatility by playing at both centre-back and right-back so far this season.
That kind of versatility is extremely valuable to the Hoops. Neil Lennon will be keen to get a deal for Ajer sorted as soon as possible. As will the Hoops support.
