Reported Celtic managerial target Jose Mourinho has touched on his future.
The Hoops have been linked with the Portuguese tactician ever since Di Marzio broke news of the interest several days ago.
Mourinho has been out of work in 2019. When he was sacked from Manchester United, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer took up the reigns and led the Red Devils to sixth. But question marks still remain over what the future holds for Mourinho individually.

The likes of Roma and Lyon have also been linked with an interest in him. And, speaking to BeIN Sports, Mourinho stated that he’s always proud when clubs are after him.
“Any club that shows interest me in me and contacts me, it makes me really, really proud.
“In the end I will choose one [club] but I’m not the kind of person to be discussing this because I’m full of respect for everybody.”
The glaring issue here
This link has been fun, to say the least. If it turns out to be true and Mourinho does come through the Parkhead door, it would be Celtic’s most high-profile managerial appointment of all time.

Of course, naturally, we therefore assume that there’s next to no chance of it actually happening. Where the obvious issue with Mourinho to Celtic sits is most certainly finance.
The money Mourinho could want in the transfer budget and as his annual wage could break our bank alone. Then there is the backroom team the Portuguese could want at Parkhead too. You can’t imagine many of those are used to anything but top-class wages.
It’s also important to remember that there’s also no guarantee of success here. Mourinho failed to keep his job in both of his last two managerial roles at Chelsea and Manchester United respectively. He did win the Premier League title with the Blues back in the 2014-15 season. Outside of that, however, it was a weak six seasons for him back in England.

Celtic would have to make sure they would know exactly what they’re getting with Mourinho, and whether it’s affordable. But this all still feels like pie in the sky stuff.
It would be a heavily ambitious move, but perhaps an overly optimistic one also.
