Celtic defender Dedryck Boyata has a major decision to make at the end of the season.
Does he continue with the Hoops and sign a new deal, or does he hope that an English club picks him up?
Reports are already circulating that former manager Brendan Rodgers wants the Belgian at Leicester City, according to the Scottish Sun.
However, last summer’s fall-out may change the course in that regard.
Rodgers earmarking Boyata for Leicester City?
The 28-year-old centre back was Rodgers’ first-choice at Celtic during his successful spell in Glasgow.
He’s formed formidable partnerships with various centre-backs, most recently Leicester’s Filip Benkovic.

Could it be possible that the Irishman fancies this duo for the English Premier League next season?
Both players have high ambitions and Boyata has made it clear that he may want to leave Celtic.
Plus, Benkovic sees himself playing in the Premier League next season, meaning the chances of another loan to the Bhoys is pretty slim.
If the Belgium international was to leave for the EPL, Leicester would better sense than any of the other mid to bottom table teams that will be in for him.

However, his personal relationship with Rodgers is still a thing of question, leaving the Celtic door open.
Boyata can play a huge part in Celtic success
If his communication with Rodgers isn’t great, then it leaves the option for him to sign a new deal or go elsewhere.
A summer fall-out when a move to Fulham was reportedly on the cards stopped his playing time for a while.
However, on his return, the big defender went on to be a star player and put everything behind him.

Whoever the next manager is would love to have a Belgian international as a defensive option going into the Champions League qualifiers.
However, as Rodgers is showing, money talks and so does the standard of leagues.
A lot of players in the past believed the grass was greener away from the Hoops but it’s not always the case.
The defender must make sure his next move is the correct one for him.
