Celtic defender Carl Starfelt has fired a reminder to opposition supporters who the champions of Scotland are.
The central defender has grown to become a popular figure at Parkhead after his performances at the back alongside Cameron Carter Vickers.
With the season coming to a close on Saturday afternoon, Starfelt and his teammates were finally allowed the opportunity to celebrate their success amongst the Celtic support.
With the off-season also comes the chance for players to jet off on their holidays.
On Sunday evening, both Starfelt and fellow Celtic teammate Jota were spotted heading out to enjoy a much-deserved rest after a long campaign in 2021/22.
However, the Hoops duo were also bombarded by opposition Rangers supporters on the same flight heading abroad. [Daily Record]
After facing plenty of shouts from some of the Ibrox support, Starfelt took to social media to remind opposition fans exactly who were the champions of Scotland late last night.
Posting on his Instagram story, the 26-year old said: “Respect the Champions”.
Over the last few weeks, as Ange Postecoglou’s side closed in on the Premiership title, there have been plenty of awful takes on social media from opposition supporters.
Winning the title back at the first time of asking wasn’t a possibility, according to most people at the beginning of the season.
However, that is precisely what Celtic have done.

Starfelt was one of many players and coaches in this team written off during the early stages. But, the defender has gone on to become a crucial player in this Celtic side and is now looking forward to the prospect of champions league football next season.
Having won 10 out of the last 11 titles in Scotland, it shows how successful the club has been in recent times. As Starfelt says, respect the champions.
