Celtic fans everywhere will be intrigued by the report that Neil Lennon is considering making club legend Henrik Larsson part of his coaching staff.
Should Larsson return to the club, it could prove to be an excellent move by Celtic. For a start, it would galvanise a Celtic support still uncertain over the appointment of Neil Lennon.
Fans would unite
The fans would surely unite as one to get behind the new coaching staff. That was probably going to happen under Lennon anyway, but the addition of Larsson would be firmly welcomed by the Hoops support.
Perhaps the only worrying aspect is that Larsson resigned from the Helssingborgs job after his team were relegated. He also had a dispute with the club’s fans.
However, he and Lennon know each other very well and Lennon must think Larsson can add to his coaching team.
Huge boost to strikers
Naturally Larsson would be a huge help to the strikers at the club. A player like Vakoun Issouf Bayo would benefit hugely from working with Larsson.
As yet, Larsson has not made any comment about the possibility of returning to Celtic. But the return of the legendary goalscorer would be a boost to fans ahead of the campaign to win nine in a row.
The most important thing to consider though, is will Larsson be a worthwhile addition to the Hoops coaching staff.
If Lennon thinks he will be, it could prove to be a great appointment.
