Celtic and Rangers will resume hostilities this week at Hampden.

Before Celtic’s League Cup final clash against Rangers on Sunday, the duo have European matters to deal with and some huge games in their quest to reach the knockout stages.

The Bhoys are facing Dinamo Zagreb in Croatia on Tuesday night and they know that a win increases their chances of reaching the top-eight of the Champions League.

Whilst Ange Postecoglou returns to Glasgow to take on Rangers with his out-of-form Tottenham side in the Europa League on Thursday night.

Celtic fans will be hoping Postecoglou further weakens a Rangers team that is 11 points behind the champions in the Premiership table and lost the opening Glasgow derby of the season.

Whenever Celtic and Rangers face off – at whatever venue – it attracts eyes from across the world because of the magnitude of the match and rivalry.

But a certain Richard Keys, formerly of Sky Sports, has gone the wrong way about it and earned himself some deserved verbal stick.

Richard Keys slammed for flip-flopping between Celtic and Rangers

There was another derby game set to take place this weekend – the final Merseyside derby at Goodison Park between Everton and Liverpool.

But because of Storm Darragh, it was postponed and Richard Keys was called out for, once ‘leaning towards’ Liverpool growing up and then backing Everton.

Ex-Liverpool player Jason McAteer and former Everton striker Andy Gray were the ones giving him stick on beINSPORTS.

Before Gray also revealed that he has done the same with Celtic and Rangers, involving a certain Gordon Strachan.

“When I worked there, Liverpool was more successful, it was more enjoyable, shall we say,” said Keys on him seemingly leaning towards Liverpool more than Everton. “It was an early form of celebrity that you would attach yourself to.

“But the good guys were always at Everton and, as the years have passed, my allegiances have moved and I have turned blue. Peter Reid did it. Used to watch his football on the Kop and played blue.”

Jason McAteer then interrupted: “There are plenty of them. But that’s because he played. You can’t just change your colours.”

Andy Gray then revealed: “He is the same with Rangers and Celtic. He actually flip-flops between Rangers and Celtic.”

Keys shared: “When Strachan took over at Celtic, I had to become a Celtic fan.” And McAteer added: “Weak. Weak.”

Which football team does Keys support?

A controversial figure, Keys spent many, many years working as Sky Sports’ leading broadcaster, alongside Gray, before being booted out in 2011.

Since then, the 67-year-old has been working in Qatar for their leading broadcaster, beIN Sports, covering Premier League football and the Champions League.

He might like to flip-flop between supporting Everton and Liverpool, or Celtic and Rangers but, according to Keys’ personal website, he is a Coventry City fan.
