It appears that last night’s win for Celtic over Hibernian has certainly left a bitter taste in the mouths of the Rangers support.
Of course they’ve been moaning after we dominated the Easter Road club at Parkhead last night. And of course their arguments are nothing to do with logic. Nope, instead, as you would expect, they’re trying to claim that Hibs didn’t try a leg last night.

Granted, Hibs could barely get out of their own half for the most part. Overwhelmed by the Celtic press, Shaun Maloney’s side were hardly given any use of the ball. Instead, they were largely having to defend in numbers as Celtic produced wave after wave of attack.
It was an imperious performance from Ange Postecoglou’s side. The gap at the top of the Premiership has now narrowed to 3 points ahead of Rangers’ trip to Pittodrie tonight. And that’s something that’s clearly irked the Ibrox support as the pressure mounts on them.
However, they were never going to just acknowledge that Celtic had too much for Hibs. That the Edinburgh club’s approach was simply down to how good the Hoops were.
Celtic too good for Hibs and the Rangers fans are clearly concerned
After all, it was Maloney in the opposition dugout last night. So of course that means Hibs weren’t going to try. Apparently Maloney is happy to see his team lose so that Celtic can start off 2022 well. It’s absolutely incredible discourse from grown adults.
The truth is that our rivals are now simply scared at the prospect of Celtic coming at them at full steam ahead during the second half of the season.
Rangers were bailed out in December by penalty decisions against Hibernian and Dundee United repsectively. Both in games where they were looking certain for a draw. They can’t keep up that kind of luck for a full second half of a season. Points are there to be dropped with 3 games against our rivals still to come.
You would think being champions that their supporters would just acknowledge the performance of Celtic last night and urge their side to match it against Aberdeen tonight. But nah, why do that when you can just pretend Hibs didn’t try and delude yourself into thinking we aren’t really that great.
Take a look at some of this reaction as they struggled to simply admit Celtic were the better side:
