Robbie Neilson believes that now could be the perfect time for Kieran McKenna to become the new Celtic manager.
McKenna is under serious consideration for the Celtic job following Brendan Rodgers’ resignation.
The Hoops have turned to Martin O’Neill and Shaun Maloney to steady the ship on an interim basis until a long-term replacement is found.
Having worked wonders at Ipswich Town, McKenna has attracted interest from the likes of Chelsea and Brentford in the past, but Neilson thinks that the time is right for him to head to Glasgow.

Neilson appeared on the BBC’s Scottish Football Podcast where the main topic was the Celtic job.
As well as endorsing a potential return for Ange Postecoglou, the former Hearts boss feels that now could be the perfect time for the Championship boss McKenna to leave Ipswich.
“McKenna is one that everyone’s speaking about. It might be the time for him to go,” he said.
“He’s sitting 12th in the Championship at the moment, had a fantastic couple of years, so it might work out for both parties on that one.”

Several names appear to be in contention for the Celtic job already, and while things may look ominous off the pitch, the allure of the club is hard to turn down.
He added: “There’s a number of managers out there that will be looking at that job, because it’s a fantastic opportunity.
“I would expect the board to spend big in January. So if you’re coming in as a manager, first of all, you want to look at the squad. It’s a good squad, but I think there’ll be money getting spent.
“There are loads and loads of people putting a CV in and some top managers.”
