Former Celtic attacker Patrick Roberts looks like he’s going to be playing in the English Premier League next season. The Sun are reporting that the 22-year-old is heading to Norwich City on a season-long loan.
Roberts is still a Manchester City player but is believed to have just one year remaining on his deal. He isn’t likely to break into the English treble winners’ side any time soon so Norwich looks like the next best option.
Celtic weren’t linked with the England youth international but his move will likely spare us the endless rumours that would have emerged at some stage before the end of August.
Do Celtic miss Roberts
The winger netted 18 goals and lifted seven trophies in three strong years at the club. He added trickery and creativity to the Celtic side but the truth is that he isn’t really missed.
That’s down to the emergence of James Forrest as a top level Celtic player. The 27-year-old has fast become a Celtic talisman in a season where he netted 17 goals and won numerous awards.

The truth of the matter is that Roberts would probably struggle to break into the current Celtic team. Forrest has nailed down a position on the right and Roberts didn’t ever look effective anywhere else.
The former academy man has softened the blow of losing a real fans favourite.
