When the euphoria of Celtic’s win at Feyenoord dies down, Wilfried Nancy will be in charge for the Europa League visit of Roma.

The Serie A side are probably Celtic’s toughest opponents in the UEFA competition but with the game at Parkhead, anything can happen.

Roma are bossing the Italian league right now as they sit top and Celtic look to regain their place at the top of the Scottish Premiership table.

However, the Italians have not been as hot in the Europa League this season and, before last night, Roma were struggling.

And what they did should be a reminder that when they come to Celtic Park, the Italians will not be easy to overcome.

Roma’s Europa League win vs FC Midtjylland cannot be ignored by Celtic

Roma are now back in the Europa League qualification hunt after beating FC Midtjylland 2-1 last night.

The Danes were flying high, unbeaten at the top of the league until their trip to the Stadio Olimpico dealt their first defeat of the competition.

Roma took an early lead before sealing the win in the 83rd minute despite Midtjylland’s late 86th-minute consolation goal.

The Italians dominated possession, had more shots on target, had a 70% tackle success rate and 102 passes in the Danes’ final third.

Roma dismantled Rangers just over three weeks ago as Celtic left Midtjylland empty-handed so Nancy will be in for a tough match against the Serie A league leaders next month.

The Roma dangerman Celtic must be wary of

Roma are packed full of talented players. Veteran striker Paulo Dybala is one Celtic should look out for as well as the likes of Lorenzo Pellegrini and Evan Ferguson.

However, it’s Argentine youngster Matías Soule the Celtic boss will need to be wary of. The 22-year-old has scored five goals and provided two assists as Roma dominate Italy and make their Europa League comeback.

How do Celtic stop Roma’s Matias Soule at Parkhead next month? 🤯

Roma paid €26m last summer for the highly-rated winger and it’s fair to say that Soule has paid back a huge chunk of that transfer fee already.
