Ronny Deila left a cracking reference to Celtic and Jock Stein in an emotional title party speech in New York.
The former Hoops boss has masterminded New York City FC’s first MLS title win, and was clearly overcome as he spoke to adoring fans at City Hall Park.
New York City released the brilliant clip, as Deila brought out a classic line from legendary Celtic manager Jock Stein.
“The most important. Football is nothing without you – the supporters.
“Thank you, you’ve been there all the way.”
Deila is loved at Celtic as much as in New York
Deila is visibly shaking and emotional in the speech.
Now part of that may be down to the alcohol he’s consumed since full-time on Saturday, but there must also be an element of the passion he feels after the achivement.
And it’s pretty hard not to feel the same way, when you’re aware of what the guy is like, and how he handles himself in tough situations.
Deila will also be appreciated by Celtic supporters because of the way he carried himself in his time at the club.
