Celtic may have received a boost in their reported pursuit of Rosenborg defender Birger Meling.
The left-back was part of the team last night which lost to Dinamo Zagreb in Champions League qualifying.
Meling will have been hoping to play in the top competition in football.
Unfortunately, it is going to be Europa League football but Neil Lennon is going to have to tempt him to play in Glasgow.
Birger Meling moving closer to Celtic transfer?
There is no denying that the Norwegian is a stand out player for the champions.
Despite a first leg drubbing from Zagreb, Meling was one of the stand-out players in Croatia.

Meling and co didn’t do enough in the second leg and now Rosenborg are dropping out.
He was watched by a Celtic scout in the Croatian capital according to the Scottish Sun.
Celtic have reportedly been interested in Meling for many weeks but he has remained tight-lipped on his future.
Perhaps a transfer is going to move further along with Meling’s season confirmed.
Rosenborg are having a torrid time domestically and were relying on one last shot at the big time.

Meling will be looking to improve his career and Celtic offer that.
The 24-year-old will command a top fee but the Hoops are desperately trying to rebuild their defence.
Greg Taylor delay for Meling benefit?
Lennon wanted two or three in this week and perhaps Meling was one of the names.
Another left-back touted is Kilmarnock’s Greg Taylor who has been linked in recent days.

He hasn’t signed either but is it because Lennon was looking to see how Meling was doing first?
Perhaps one last throw of the dice towards the Rosenborg man will seal the deal.
If neither sign, then the club is leading the fans up the garden path or they aren’t willing to invest the money needed in the team.
