Roy Keane delivers verdict on what he witnessed from Celtic and Rangers at Ibrox, title race opinion

Celtic’s 3-3 draw away to Rangers at Ibrox this afternoon wasn’t one for the faint-hearted. These derbies rarely are.

The Bhoys were ahead twice in the Scottish Premiership fixture, at one point holding a two-goal lead over the home side.

However, Philippe Clement’s outfit knew they couldn’t afford to lose the match and managed to rally comebacks – with help from a dubious penalty along the way.

Both teams won’t be too disappointed with earning just a point. Celtic know everything in the title race is still in their own hands while Rangers will be delighted they didn’t collapse and suffer yet another derby defeat.

The battle for league silverware is still very much in the balance. Former Celtic and Manchester United midfielder Roy Keane reckons it’s a toin coss.

Roy Keane on Celtic’s draw away to Rangers

Speaking to Sky Sports after the match, he said: “It was a really good game. There was good pace to it, some good goals and good spirit amongst both sets of players and the managers. Yeah, a really good game.”

Asked if it was advantage to Rangers in terms of the title race, he added: “I’m not sure. I think they’ll be delighted with the draw to get such a late equaliser. There’s still the game to go at Celtic Park, so I’d still say it’s 50/50.”

Celtic now play St Mirren at home before finding out their schedule of fixtures after the top flight splits into a top and bottom six.

There are now just six games remaining, including that derby against Rangers. If the Bhoys earn 15 points from 15 they are guaranteed to be champions. On paper, it’s that simple.

On the evidence so far this season, though, there are a few twists and turns ahead. Nothing was decided today, but nothing was lost either.
