Ryan Christie has praised Celtic’s Tom Rogic as one of the best players at the club – even though he may be replacing him in the Hoops’ starting line-up.

Christie is available to play against Lazio in the Europa League after being suspended for the league game against Ross County.

That may lead to Christie replacing Tom Rogic in the Hoops side. Despite that, Christie highly-rates Rogic as a player.

“It’s brilliant to see Tom back as he’s a player I’ve admired from the moment I came to Celtic” he said, as reported by the Scottish Sun.

“I can’t speak highly enough of him – he’s one of the best I’ve ever played with.”

It is easy to see why Rogic is such a favourite of Christie. They both have similar attributes to their game, which is scoring goals from the middle of the park.

It does have to be said though, that in the last year Christie seems to have taken over from Rogic as the main attacking midfielder in the Celtic team.

Injuries have contributed to Rogic’s lack of game time, but recently Christie has been in better form than his midfield colleague.

That is why it is likely that Christie will replace Rogic in the starting line-up that will face Lazio. However, with Christie suspended for the trip to Aberdeen on Sunday, Rogic’s absence from the starting line-up may only be a short one.

Rogic has an excellent record against Aberdeen, so it makes sense for him to return to the starting line-up. It is good to see that Christie is such a fan of Rogic, both players can play a key role in making sure the Hoops have a successful season.
