Celtic’s Ryan Christie is hopeful that Odsonne Edouard can be the club’s top scorer for the second season in a row, Celtic’s official website reports.
Before the winter break it looked as if Christie had a good shout of being the Hoops’ top scorer this season, as he was sitting on 17 goals.
Hoops player has been a goal machine since winter break
Since then though, he has only added one goal to his tally to have 18 goals so far this season, whilst Edouard has been a goal machine, scoring seven times since the winter break to take his total for the season to 23 goals.

Christie believes that the Frenchman, who was the Hoops top scorer last season with 22 goals, is worthy of such an accolade once more.
“He definitely deserves it”
“Odsonne is the man that always finds the back of the net, and I won’t be surprised if he ends up top goalscorer this season. And I hope he does! He definitely deserves it” he said, as quoted by the Celtic website.
It seems that only injury will prevent Edouard from being Celtic’s top scorer once more. Not only is he five goals ahead of Christie, but he is seven goals ahead of James Forrest, who has scored 16 goals this season.

Having three players score 15 plus goals in February is testament to the attacking football that Neil Lennon has introduced to his Celtic team this season.
The next target for Christie and Forrest should be 25 goals, whilst Edouard should be aiming for 30. There are enough games left this seasons for those goals to be met. If the targets can be reached, the Hoops could be celebrating their fourth domestic treble in a row in May.
