Celtic fans will have high expectations for Ryan Christie this season – and the good news is that the players sounds like he is ready to meet them.

The midfielder has started the season in great form, scoring six goals already. He is eager to take the responsibility that comes with being a big player for the Hoops.

“I am enjoying the pressure. People are expecting more from me and it’s good to try my best to become a big player for the team” he told the club’s official Twitter account ahead of the game against Motherwell.

The only thing that could stop Christie from being one of the most important Celtic players this season is injuries.

He was unfortunate to suffer some last season, the worst being the multiple facial fractures that kept him out for the end of the season.

However, judging from his comments he is eager to make up for any lost time. Already he is well on his way to surpassing his total of 11 goals from last season.

Neil Lennon will be delighted with the contribution Christie has made so far this season. He seems eager to cement his place as a regular in the side.

Should he keep up his form, there is no way that he will be out of the team for the foreseeable future. He is already too important for that.
