If Neil Lennon or anyone connected with Celtic sees the recent comments made by Sarajevo goalkeeper Vladan Kovacevic after the Hoops’ 3-1 Champions League qualifying win, they are unlikely to agree with them.
The goalkeeper has claimed that the Hoops were fortunate to win the game. This is despite the fact the Hoops came from a goal behind to clinch the win.

“In my opinion, Celtic did not deserve to win because they didn’t create that many chances” he said, as reported by the Scottish Sun.
“I think we were shaken when they equalised so quickly after we had taken the lead. We were unlucky they scored a third goal.”

Hoops coped with adversity
Those comments will only fire Celtic up ahead of next week’s second leg at Celtic Park. It should be remembered that Celtic were without a recognised right-back for the game, and had to play Kristoffer Ajer in that position.

Neil Lennon’s side also had to cope with torrential weather and a poor playing surface. As for not creating chances, the Hoops could easily have added to their advantage in the game. Celtic could have scored four or five goals.
Therefore, when you consider all that the Hoops had to deal with, they more than deserved the victory. Kovacevic’s comments will only encourage Celtic to put on a good display in next week’s second leg.
