Thousands of Celtic and Aberdeen fans will be heading to Glasgow’s south side to Hampden for the Scottish Cup final on Saturday.

The end of season finale gives Brendan Rodgers the chance to wrap up Celtic’s record ninth domestic treble in their history.

For Aberdeen, their fans will be hoping to see their club lift the Scottish Cup for just the eighth time in their history, the first since 1990, which was, ironically, against Celtic.

With Hampden seeing a 50/50 ticket allocation split, 20,000 fans from Celtic and Aberdeen will descend on the national stadium and ScotRail are planning to make that journey a little bit easier this weekend.

ScotRail increase Scottish Cup service for Celtic and Aberdeen fans

Hampden will have over 50,000 people visiting this Saturday as Celtic and Aberdeen face off in the Scottish Cup final.

And in response to that ScotRail have announced on X, “It’s the men’s Scottish Cup Final at Hampden Park on Sat, 24 May (KO 3pm) with Aberdeen taking on Celtic.

“We’re putting on additional trains and extra carriages on key routes in and out of Glasgow to help fans get to and from the game.”

On ScotRail’s official website, the company continued, “Aberdeen fans should queue for services to Mount Florida via the carriage drive on Hope Street.

“Celtic fans should queue for services to Kings Park via the main concourse inside Glasgow Central station.

“Fans are advised to promptly make their way back to the station after the match as queuing systems will be in place at Mount Florida for Aberdeen supporters, and at Kings Park for Celtic fans.

Referee & VAR appointment for Scottish Cup final

The big game requires the SFA to appoint their most experienced officials for the Hampden final.

The referee will be Don Robertson and he will be assisted by Ross McLeod and David Dunne running the lines.

On VAR will be Greg Aitken and he will be assisted by Colin Steven.

The fourth official is Colin Steven.

Let’s hope people are talking about the football between both clubs and that Celtic beat Aberdeen to lift the Scottish Cup for the 43rd time in their history.
