Celtic are in a fantastic place under Brendan Rodgers as his main stars continue to deliver valuable contributions while on the field.

With the Bhoys well in the hunt for another Scottish Premiership title, they are also in a great position to secure Champions League progression amid events in midweek.

In a result that has been subject to much coverage, Celtic saw off RB Leipzig in excellent fashion to further their prospects of staying at Europe’s top table for a little while longer.

While the adulation has poured in for the Hoops, Brendan Rodgers will be keen to put their exploits in midweek to one side. The Bhoys travel to face Kilmarnock at Rugby Park tomorrow on league duty.

Before that, Scott Allan has outlined the impact one of Celtic’s most consistent contributors continues to have at Parkhead while casting an eye to the January transfer window.

Scott Allan on ‘outstanding’ Greg Taylor amid January prediction

Speaking on Clyde 1 Superscoreboard, Allan gave some airtime to Celtic defender Greg Taylor’s ‘outstanding’ consistency at Celtic while predicting that his old side could be able to carry out some smart recruitment in the January window if their Champions League trajectory holds.

He stated: “No question, Greg Taylor does come under a bit of criticism here and there, but for me, he’s been another outstanding performer for Celtic.

“Obviously, coming from Kilmarnock, the other night, he has an impact on the game, a lovely reverse pass for Hatate and he’s on the byline crossing it in for Nicolas Kuhn, so you can’t argue with the decisions that Brendan has made.

“I think, come January, if they are looking to strengthen in areas, if they get the results in the Champions League in the next month or so, they’ll be in a much better position to even get maybe a better quality of player.”

Greg Taylor’s Celtic contract situation needs attention

In his pre-Kilmarnock press conference, Rodgers admitted he would love Taylor to sign a new Celtic contract as he is well into the final year of his terms in Glasgow.

The Irishman stated: “We want him to really settle down and get everything ready for him and I just want to continue working with him for as long as I possibly can.”

On course to break 200 appearances for Celtic, Taylor has registered eight goals and 29 assists for the Bhoys and is an experienced member of the dressing room, having helped nine trophies through the Parkhead entrance.

He will be able to talk to other clubs in a matter of weeks, so it makes sense to pay attention to his situation and make sure there is no danger of a surprise exit.
