Scott Bain could do with a good performance when Celtic face Cluj on Tuesday night.
The goalkeeper is likely to be one of the key men as the Hoops aim to finish the job after a good result in Romania last week. The 27-year-old has conceded three goals in his last two matches, after keeping three clean sheets in his prior three.
And his nervous display in the 5-2 weekend win over Motherwell means that all eyes will be on him at Celtic Park.
Bain must aim for a clean sheet against Cluj
Bain was very unconvincing when ‘Well man Liam Donnelly opened the scoring with a dipping volley in Saturday’s clash. The keeper looked hesitant as he allowed the long-range strike to squirm past him and give the Lanarkshire side the perfect start.
Thankfully, Celtic’s attackers meant the game was out of sight before Donnelly nabbed another sloppy goal in second-half stoppage time. Any similar concessions against the Romanians aren’t likely to be as easy to override.
The game is very simple for Bain and the rest of the Celtic defence. Keep a clean sheet and we’re into the next round of qualifying. Fail to do so and we’re needing at least one up the other end.
