Scott Bain has stated that he’s open to signing a new contract with Celtic.
The Hoops just wrapped up their eighth successive Premiership title in-a-row. The success will have many now dreaming about matching the nine-in-a-row title run set by Celtic back in 1974.
Celtic have stuttered along the way at times this season. The three draws suffered by Neil Lennon were frustrating, but defeats to the likes of Kilmarnock, Hearts, Hibernian, and Rangers during the first half of the campaign didn’t help.

Bain came in to rack up 15 Premiership clean sheets in 18 matches. He’s also yet to concede a goal in the Scottish Cup too. And speaking to the Daily Record, Bain admitted he would be open to signing a new deal.
“There is always so much on the line at this club, so it is just a case of me putting all the outside noise and distractions out of my mind and putting in the best performances that I can.
“If a new contract comes up we will discuss it.
“We will go to Ibrox with a swagger. We have proved we are the best team in the country and no one can touch us – we go again.”
A stunning bit of business by Celtic
When Celtic picked Bain up almost a year-and-a-half ago, it looked like nothing more than a back-up signing. He wasn’t even first-choice for Hibernian during a loan spell at Easter Road. But since January, he’s been the main man.

Bain is close to winning two cup competitions for Celtic whilst conceding just one goal. Since being thrown in back in late January, he’s only shipped two goals from open play – one being the unsportsmanlike goal Motherwell scored at Celtic Park a couple of months ago.
Bain speaks with such confidence in his club at the moment. He’s happy to dismiss the competition from the rest of the league, and has claimed that nobody can touch the Hoops. That’s been proven with what’s going to be yet another trophy-laden campaign.

There is no denying that the former Dundee shot-stopper now deserves that new deal too. Bain’s contract does run until 2022 in any case, but improved terms on his deal wouldn’t be an injustice.
He’ll be looking to end the season as strongly as possible. With three games remaining, Bain will most certainly want three clean sheets – if he managed that, it will be some end to the campaign for all of us.
