Scott Bain praises James Forrest and Scott Brown for saving Celtic spirit

New Celtic number one Scott Bain has thanked both James Forrest and Scott Brown for keeping morale high at Parkhead.

The dynamic duo scored the goals that took Celtic to the Scottish Cup semi-finals on Saturday. Their performances at Easter Road were of the highest quality, and fans were delighted to see their side win in Leith for the first time in four attempts.

After the match, Lennon made a claim that both Forrest and Brown were Celtic greats. They were both here when he first got the manager’s gig at Parkhead back in 2010. Now, fast forward nine years and the duo are still thriving at Celtic.

But after a tumultuous week where Brendan Rodgers ditched Celtic for Leicester, the Hoops have subsequently managed to pick up massive wins at Hearts and Hibs.

And, speaking in the Daily Record, Bain has opened up on how vital Brown and Forrest have been.

“They are important no matter the circumstances outside the changing room because in there they are fantastic boys.

“The club would be a different place without Broony. He does so much for the boys and keeps the boys together.

“He drives us through in training and demands the highest standards, so he is massive for the club regardless what has been going this week outside the changing room. I think you can see from the two results just how professional the boys are.”

Celtic are still thriving

You would’ve thought that the club may have gone into that depression state after Rodgers’ departure. After all, after nearly three years of implementing a playing style and philosophy into the club, it had all gone up in smoke.

But Lennon’s arrival has sparked an improvement in performance levels. The Edinburgh results clearly showed that when you look at the stats.

Before last week, Celtic had lost four of their last five trips to Edinburgh. They had lost on their last visits to both Hearts and Hibs respectively. Added to that, Rodgers had never won a match at Easter Road.

Brown has been a massive part of this lift in particular. He’s bossed both fixtures and ensured heads don’t drop around the squad. That’s exactly what supporters will have been demanding from their captain.

But the main thing is that Celtic are churning out results. They’re in fine form and look like motoring to the title. If you ask Bain, much of that is down to Brown and even Forrest.
