Scott Brown has made an intriguing remark about Celtic teammate James Forrest whilst appearing on the Celtic View podcast.

Brown was reviewing the different aspects of Celtic’s nine in a row run whilst on the podcast. During the discussion, he was asked who his favourite player that he played with during the run of title wins was – and the answer was Forrest.

This led to Brown disclosing that Forrest never wants to leave Celtic, and indeed wants to end his career with the club.

“Absolutely amazing”

“He’s been absolutely amazing, we get on really well, we always have done since he came up, he’s been a great lad, and he’s a player that wants to be here, he’s a player that wants to continue being here, he wants to finish his career here” Brown said, whilst appearing on the Celtic View podcast.

Those are certainly some intriguing remarks from the Celtic captain. He will be in a good place to know how Forrest feels about the situation. Brown has been a constant in the Celtic team since Forrest made his Hoops debut back in 2010.

It would be a real boost for the Hoops if Forrest decided to commit his future to the club. He is still a really influential player. Forrest has been missed during his absence from the team due to an ankle injury.

Perhaps isn’t fully appreciated

Hopefully he can return soon, as he sometimes isn’t fully appreciated, and you don’t know just how good a player is until he is out of the side. That seems to be the case with Forrest.

You have to think that Celtic’s recent poor run of results could have been averted to an extent if Forrest had been available.

Still, it is a good sign that the player seems to want to commit his future to Celtic. He is still only 29-years-old. The player has a few years left in him yet. Hopefully he can add to the 19 trophies he has already won at the club before he retires.

In other news, Mikael Lustig has to be Celtic’s best free transfer signing of the last 10 years.
