In the aftermath of Celtic’s 2-1 win over Lazio in Rome, many players took to social media to give their opinion on the game. One player who did not do so in the immediate aftermath of the game was Celtic skipper Scott Brown.

However, on Friday evening, he took to Instagram to give his verdict on a historic night for Celtic, following their first ever victory in Italy.

“Last 32 here we come, great result last night and great performance” he said.

Brown has played in many big games for Celtic. However, the win in Rome has to go down as one of the best of his career. Few people would have given Celtic a chance when they went 1-0 down to Ciro Immobile’s goal.

However, the Hoops showed plenty of fighting spirit to battle back and record their first ever win in Italy. Celtic have had many great teams in their history, but none had managed to win in Italy, until now, which makes the result that bit more special.

In Brown’s time with Celtic, the Hoops have not always done as well as they can in Europe. They have reached the last 16 of the Champions League twice, and the last 32 of the Europa League on a few occasions.

The win in Italy should give the team plenty of confidence that they can go far in the Europa League. Some teams from the Champions League enter the competition in the last 32, but Celtic should not fear any of those sides. They should go into those games with the belief that they can progress in the competition.

Brown is certainly a player who at times plays with plenty of confidence. You can be sure that he will be telling his team-mates that they can go far in the Europa League this season.
