Scott Brown has faith that Celtic will take their time and get the right business done in the transfer window this summer. The Bhoys are in need of some new recruits after losing a lot of first-team players at the end of last season.
The likes of Emilio Izaguirre and Dedryck Boyata have left the club in the past few weeks while all four of last year’s loan signings have also departed. Mikael Lustig is expected to end an eight year stay later this week while Olivier Ntcham could also be off.
Celtic are yet to finalise a single signing this summer but skipper Brown isn’t getting worried.

What did he say?
“I’m sure the manager and the board will do fantastic things,” Brown told the official Celtic website. “They’ll bring in the players that they want to bring in.
“They’ll be in no rush to go and sign the wrong person. They will do what they’ve done since I’ve been here which is bring in some fantastic players.

“You need to try and find the middle ground between the experience and the young ones coming through. The young ones are what keep us going and we thrive to get better, even at 33 or 34.
“It’s a good place to be for young ones coming in and it’s a great learning curve as well.”
Taking our time
Celtic are right to take their time this summer and not rush into any deals. Panic buys haven’t worked for the club in recent years. The likes of Jack Hendry and Youssouf Mulumbu are perfect examples of players who have come in at the last minute to fill a gap.

The club should weigh up their options this summer and make sure every player who is coming in can make an impact in the first-team.
Brown’s comments can probably be taken as a reflection of Celtic’s policy this summer. The Celtic captain will be kept well up to date with the goings-on from inside the boardroom so he’ll have a fair idea of what the plan is.
It is crucial that Celtic get players in this summer but also vital that they are the right fit. That second part may take slightly longer than the first but it is important that it’s adhered to.
