Celtic captain Scott Brown has disclosed that he is unaware about what will happen for the rest of the season as football deals with the Coronavirus, the official club Twitter account reports.

At the moment, the Hoops are scheduled to play Rangers in a vital league game in the Premiership on Sunday. Brown has confirmed players are taking their cues from the club and Scottish football authorities, and his teammates are only thinking about the game against Rangers.

“We’ll take the lead from the club”

“I don’t know what’s going to happen. It seems to be getting worse, so we’ll take the lead from the club and the SFA. We’ll worry about that when it comes. Things stand as it is right now, we need to make sure we focus on this game on Sunday” Brown said, as quoted by the Celtic Twitter account.

The situation seems to be changing on a day by day basis, therefore it is not surprising that Brown and his teammates aren’t sure what is going to happen.

It can’t be easy not knowing if you are going to be playing, after preparing for a match all week. However, this is a unique situation, that football has not had to deal with before.

Players probably doing the best thing in planning for derby

Only time will tell what happens for the rest of the season, but for the moment, Brown and his teammates are probably doing the best thing in preparing for the game against Rangers as normal.

It will be interesting to see if the situation changes before the Hoops are due to face Rangers, for example, the game may have to take players behind closed doors, which would certainly be a unique situation.

For now though, Celtic have to prepare for the game against Rangers, a match which will hopefully take place, and will hopefully see the Hoops pick up three points.
