Celtic skipper Scott Brown probably doesn’t have that much time left as an active player. At 34, he is coming towards the end of his playing career.
You have to imagine that when his contract with Celtic expires at the end of the 2020-21 season, he might well hang up his boots and move into a coaching role.
That seems to be something that he is already turning his attention to, judging by some recent comments from the man who has won nine titles as a Celtic player.
He disclosed that during the winter training break in Dubai he kept a close eye on the work done by the Hoops coaching staff.
“Pay more attention to stuff behind the scenes”

“The more you mature as a player, the more you start to pay more attention to stuff behind the scenes at training, the way things are set up and the thinking behind each drill” Brown said, as quoted by the Celtic View (Volume 55, Issue 25, Page 13).
“I love working hard on the training pitch, but I’m constantly learning from a potential coaching perspective” he concluded.
Brown seems to be the type of player that is a certainty to move into coaching when his time at Celtic comes to an end.
Current manager coached Hoops after playing days ended

Will that coaching role be at Celtic Park? It certainly could be. It should be remembered that after Neil Lennon retired he returned to Celtic as part of Gordon Strachan’s coaching staff.
The same might well happen to Brown, especially if Lennon is still Celtic boss when he retires. At the moment Brown’s focus will be on helping Celtic win nine, then 10 in a row.
However, it is interesting to see that he is already thinking ahead to his coaching career. Who knows, perhaps one day we might see Brown in the home dugout at Celtic Park, but this time as manager. There is a while to go yet though before that happens. Firstly, Brown must lead Celtic to more glory on the pitch, not from off the pitch.
