Celtic skipper Scott Brown is just one of many Celtic players who have been paying tribute to Mikael Lustig. The Hoops right-back announced his departure from Celtic after eight years in a lengthy Instagram post.
Now Brown has taken to Instagram to pay his own tribute to the player.
“Fantastic role model”
“So sad to see this man leave” he began. “Was a fantastic role model and has helped me so much during my time at the club. We all love you Mikael Lustig. Now all the best at your new club” Brown concluded.
Brown’s tribute to Lustig shows how highly-regarded the player was by his team-mates. The fact that he has ‘helped’ by Lustig shows how important he has been to the side.
Brown has thrived at Celtic in recent years. Partly that might be down to the encouragement that he has been given by Lustig.

End of an era for club
It is certainly the end of an era for Celtic. Lustig was a mainstay of the side for eight years. Even though his form might not have been great in recent years, he was still a key member of the squad.
Judging by Brown’s comments he was a big player in the dressing room. It will be difficult for whoever Lustig’s replacement is to be as influential to the team. Lustig’s departure looks to have left a huge void, which will need to be filled quickly.
