Celtic’s 2-0 win over Hibernian on Sunday keeps the Hoops two points clear at the top of the Premiership table. Undeniably one of the stars of the game was right-back Jeremie Frimpong. He continued his great start to the season by giving the Hoops the lead in the match.

One man who was impressed with Frimpong’s performance is Celtic skipper Scott Brown. Brown took to social media on Monday evening to heap praise on the player.

“Great team performance and wee Jeremie Frimpong was on fire” Brown posted on Instagram.

Frimpong’s performances have to be one of the most unexpected developments of Celtic’s season so far. Few would have predicted that he would become a first-team regular when he joined the club from Manchester City in the summer.

However, he now has to be considered one of the first names on Neil Lennon’s team sheet. It is also a good sign for the player that he is impressing his team-mates.

Brown has played with a lot of starlets in his time at Celtic, and it will be interesting to see where Frimpong rates amongst those he has seen in action.

It is still early days for the player in his career. So far though, he has passed every test that he has faced in a Hoops jersey.

The Betfred Cup Final can even be considered a success, even though he was sent-off. Before that, he was arguably one of Celtic’s best players on the day.

Frimpong looks set to face another interesting test on Wednesday night, when the Hoops travel to Tynecastle for the first time this season to take on Hearts.

Tynecastle is a notoriously tough ground for the Hoops to visit, so Frimpong will need to be at his best. He has done so well for the Hoops though that you would expect him to perform well for Celtic on the night.
