Former Celtic target Scott McTominay’s performance in Paris has stirred up discussion among the Celtic support.

The Scottish International impressed in Manchester United’s historic comeback win over the French champions.

However, he may not even had been there had a reported move to Celtic in January taken place.

Sky Sports reported that a loan deal for McTominay was being discussed by both clubs.

However, that didn’t materialise and many Celtic fans were glad of the idea’s demise.

Not many rated the young midfielder, claiming he wasn’t what was required.

The replies this tweet are quite telling.

However, now some fans have pointed out that they may have been too quick to judge McTominay.

Many of the reservations fans may have over the midfielder still hold true.

However, last night he shone against a star-studded PSG side. He showed his massive potential on an even bigger stage.

His determination and willingness to cover every blade of grass was crucial to United’s comeback.

Plenty for McTominay to prove

Although he was excellent last night, McTominay has much more to prove at United.

He does have a big future in the game however, that can’t be denied.

And to think he could have missed out last night and be preparing for Aberdeen on Saturday instead.

I wonder what he would have preferred.
