A former team-mate of Scott Allan has not blamed the player for moving to Celtic when he had the chance. Allan is set to end four years at Celtic after signing a pre-contract agreement with Hibs.

Scott Robertson feels that the player will have no regrets about the move even though it didn’t work out for either the player or for Celtic.

“I don’t think that Scott has wasted four years of his career” Robertson said, as reported by Edinburgh Live.

“The correct decision”

“It was an opportunity that might never have come round again. I am sure Scott will say that he made the correct decision based on all the elements that were in place at the time.”

In a way, you can understand why Celtic wanted to sign the player. He was one of the hottest properties in the Scottish game at the time.

Move didn’t work out

Rangers had multiple bids for the player turned down, which shows how in-demand he was. However, the move to Celtic just didn’t work out for the player at all.

He struggled to get into the side, and a move away from the club was inevitable.

Ironically enough, the man who got the best out of him at Hibs, Neil Lennon, is of course back at Celtic. That does not mean he would have got into the Celtic side though.

A move back to Hibs for Allan is probably the best for all parties.
