It seems that Celtic are set to extend Scott Sinclair’s contract. The Scottish Sun is reporting that the Hoops will trigger a one-year extension to his deal, which will keep him at the club until 2021.
The report goes on to claim that the deal will keep Sinclair as the highest paid player at the club.
There might be some dissenting voices at the reported deal, as it has to be said that Sinclair has not been at his very best this season.

More than earned deal
However, when it comes down to it, the player has more than earned the new deal with the club.

In his three season with the club so far, he has scored at least 15 goals each season. Even this season, which has seen Sinclair lose his place in the starting line-up, the player has contributed 17 goals and six assists.
Not easy to replace

He is still the joint second top goalscorer at the club this season. Statistics like that aren’t easy to replace.
Sinclair is probably having his worst season so far in Glasgow. But the fact that he has still managed to score so many goals is testament to the player’s abilities.
He is too valuable a player to be jettisoned at this moment in time.
The club have done the right thing with this reported contract extension. It may spur Sinclair on for the rest of the season.
