Scott Sinclair was restored back to the Celtic team after a few weeks out for the Hoops’ 1-0 win over Kilmarnock. But the Hoops winger failed to make an impression in the game.
He had plenty of the ball in the game, but couldn’t do much with it. It was a bit of a surprise to see him complete the game, but Neil Lennon must have had faith that he could still have a contribution to make.
Lennon has a choice of make
Sadly it wasn’t to be, and Lennon now has a choice to make ahead of the Hoops’ trip to Pittodrie to take on Aberdeen next Saturday.
Sinclair has a very good record against Aberdeen. He has scored four goals against them this season, including a hat-trick in December.
However, his recent performances have not been worthy of a place in the Hoops starting line-up.
Reintroduction for benched winger
That could mean a reintroduction to the side for Jonny Hayes, who had been starting most games for the Hoops in recent weeks.
Sinclair poses more of an offensive threat than Hayes. But Lennon might feel that Hayes will work harder for the team.
Only time will tell on that front, but it is unfortunate that Sinclair never took the chance to firmly secure his position in the Celtic first-team once more.
