Inverness Caledonian Thistle will appoint Duncan Ferguson as their new manager on Tuesday morning.
The Highland side are currently bottom of the Championship and parted company with Billy Dodds recently.
Sky Sports are among the outlets reporting that a deal for Ferguson has been agreed. They say it will be announced at 9:30am on Tuesday.
Ferguson is a big-name appointment for a club of Inverness’ stature. He has taken charge of games in the Premier League in recent times when placed in caretaker charge of Everton. He was sacked from his only previous full-time gig with Forest Green Rovers in July, but is still very well known in the game, even if often not for the right reasons.

A couple of Celtic-related personnel were also linked with the role. Darren O’Dea was known to be attracting interest from the Inverness hierarchy with the Highlanders keen to speak to the Celtic B coach.
O’Dea is clearly pretty highly rated, and more interest in him in the future is very likely.

Celtic legend Scott Brown was also mentioned as a potential appointment on BBC Sportsound at the weekend. The former midfielder who recently left Fleetwood Town was said to have been in Inverness during the week.
Both O’Dea and Brown have clearly missed out on this gig. It remains to be seen where Brown’s next move comes from. It would be great to see him back in Scottish football.
