Sead Haksabanovic has only been on loan at Stoke City from Celtic for a month, yet he’s already scooped an award.
The 24-year-old has been named the Championship club’s Player of the Month for September (Stoke City). While Stoke did fail to win a match during the month, it’s still a nice little boost for the Montenegrin.
Haksabanovic has featured in every one of Stoke’s seven matches since he joined. He netted his first goal for the club in their win over Bristol City a fortnight ago.
Looking at the replies to the announcement of the award on Twitter, the general consensus seems to be that the winger has done relatively well. However, the fact that he’s won the monthly award says more about his team’s struggling form. They sit 21st in the league right now.

Regardless, it’s good to hear that he’s performing well down south. Given that he is contracted with us until the summer of 2027, and doesn’t appear to have a future at Celtic Park, it would be good if another team were tempted into buying him.
On the international side, meanwhile, things aren’t going quite as well for the winger. We brought you the story last month of his Montenegro manager Miodrag Radulović not being happy with him pulling out of duty for his country.

Haksabanovic appeared to make the decision due to having tasks to complete following his switch from Glasgow to Stoke.
As a result, he hasn’t been included for his country this time around and seems to have his work cut out getting back into his manager’s plans.
