Season ticket holders delighted as Celtic announce coverage of Europa League playoff

Celtic have finally provided a bit of ‘additional value’ for season ticket holders who are missing out on attending home matches this season.

Reduced to watching games on ‘Pass To Paradise’ streams, some have been left miffed with the lack of bonuses for those who have paid full whack to purchase season tickets for the 2020/21 campaign.

However, the club have moved to secure the rights to show FK Sarajevo vs Celtic live online for season ticket holders in the UK & Ireland, preventing a blackout of the fixture.

Premier Sports are showing Tottenham Hotspur instead, and BT Sports didn’t appear to be ready to offer live coverage either.

Thankfully the club have stepped in and ensured tens of thousands will be able to watch Neil Lennon’s Bhoys shoot for the group stages of the Europa League.

It’s not such great news for non-season ticket holders, who will not have legal means of watching the fixture.

However, the club are trying to protect the value of season tickets in general, and this is hopefully just the first step in ensuring fans get value out of their investments.

The playoff, set to take place in Zenica, Bosnia, is crucial for Celtic.

Some may argue European competition is a distraction for the Scottish champions this year, but it’s always vital our players compete on the continent.

It helps us find form and confidence for domestic tests and ensures there’s another revenue stream in place for the club.

A win in the one-legged tie is required. No excuses!
