The internationals this week are certainly a tad more tense than normal.
It’s not often, after all, that we have Rangers so soon after we close up a set of international fixtures. In addition to that, 12 of Celtic’s senior squad are away – a healthy chunk of them are likely to face Rangers on March 31st.
With a grand total of 23 Celts representing their nations, it’s tiring work trying to keep on top of who played where and who got injured.
Therefore, below, we list out the key fixtures involving all Celtic players likely to take part when Rangers come calling.
Scotland

First off, we have an outstanding six players on international duty with Scotland. Lewis Morgan, however, is currently with Sunderland on loan and therefore won’t take part against Rangers.
Scott Bain, Kieran Tierney, Callum McGregor, James Forrest, and Oliver Burke are all in the squad and likely to play upon returning, however.
But Tierney’s injury has provided Celtic with a dilemma. Do they ask him to come back? Or allow him to see it through in the hope of playing against San Marino?
Regardless, here are the two fixtures likely to involve five key players on the 31st.
Kazakhstan vs SCOTLAND (March 21st)
San Marino vs SCOTLAND (March 24th)
NORWAY AND SWEDEN

Mikael Lustig and Kristoffer Ajer will be representing Sweden and Norway respectively. You can pretty much nearly guarantee that both men will start against Rangers too.
Interestingly, however, both men will also face each other in their opening Euro 2020 qualification matches. They’re in the same qualification group, and will face each other in their second match of the group stage.
So long as it isn’t too feisty, we’ll be quite happy. The main concern is making sure both men are back in one piece. Here’s the dates that could see both men featuring for their countries respectively:
Spain vs NORWAY (March 23rd)
SWEDEN vs Romania (March 23rd)
NORWAY VS SWEDEN (March 26th)
BELGIUM

One of the biggest concerns heading into this international break was the fitness of Dedryck Boyata. After all, he missed the 1-0 win over Dundee, and he rarely misses a squad.
It’s clear, however, that whatever ruled him out wasn’t too serious. He hasn’t dropped out of the Belgian international squad, and could very well have a part to play after an impressive World Cup last summer.
Belgium are also part of Scotland’s Euro 2020 qualification group. Fortunately for the Scots, however, they don’t meet in this set of fixtures. Below are the games Boyata could very well be a part of:
BELGIUM vs Russia (March 21st)
Cyprus vs BELGIUM (March 24th)
UNDER 23/21 INTERNATIONALS

Not all of Celtic’s top stars are featuring for their senior sides over the international break.
The likes of Timothy Weah and Vakoun Issouf Bayo are away with their nations’ under-23 squads.
Weah and Bayo are off with the USA and Ivory Coast respectively. Mikey Johnston, meanwhile, was called up by the Scotland under-21 squad. Here’s a look at all of the fixtures that could involve the respective Celts.
USA vs Egypt (March 22nd)
USA vs Holland (March 24th)
Niger vs IVORY COAST (March 22nd)
IVORY COAST vs Niger (March 25th)
SCOTLAND vs Mexico (March 22nd)
SCOTLAND vs Sweden (March 25th)
Fortunately, the likes of Odsonne Edouard, Scott Sinclair, Tom Rogic, and Olivier Ntcham are at Lennoxtown. Therefore, not all of Celtic’s top stars that could feature next Sunday are away.
Hopefully, however, it’s a positive report card in a week’s time.
