The SFA have announced that Willie Collum will be in charge for Rangers vs Celtic on Sunday.
The Hoops will travel to Ibrox knowing that 3 points will all but secure the title for Ange Postecoglou’s men.
Collum has taken charge of 4 Celtic games already this season. The Hoops have come out on top in all of them. Meanwhile, he’s also reffed 3 of Rangers’ matches in this campaign. Again, our rivals have won all 3.

Bobby Madden was in charge of the previous Glasgow derby at Celtic Park in which Ange’s men ran out comfortable 3-0 winners.
In his 38 matches this season, Collum has dished out 140 bookings and 8 red cards [Transfermarkt]. Here’s hoping the spotlight isn’t on him come Sunday.
Celtic go into the game 3 points clear of their rivals and on the back of a 31-game unbeaten run.
SFA make their choice – time for Celtic to ensure it’s irrelevant
This was undoubtedly one of the most anticipated moments of the Glasgow derby build-up. Many have been itching to find out who is in charge for this one.
It probably says a lot about Scottish football culture that this is such a big deal. Then again, when your rivals are constantly moaning about refereeing decisions, it’s no wonder such a spotlight is placed on it.
Collum has hardly been a friend to the Celtic supporters over the years. Many have major question marks over his competency for the job. On many occasions those suspicions have been justified.

However, we’re all hoping that this isn’t an issue come full-time. If Celtic turn up and perform to the levels we know they can, then whoever is in the middle simply isn’t important.
It seems as though decisions are always at the forefront of the Scottish football conversation. Hopefully that changes this weekend.
