Celtic fans will be given a chance to get to know new recruit Shane Duffy a bit better on Saturday.

That’s because the club will be airing an exclusive Q&A with the Republic of Ireland international during the coverage of the Livingston clash.

Duffy has been a big hit with the Hoops support already – and has two goals in as many games.

And fans will be able to hear from him tomorrow, after the club tweeted to let supporters know.

In the Friday message they included a short preview of the Duffy interview.

And, in it, one snappy answer stood out to me.



Duffy could become a real Celtic hero

The Derry man is asked what “the best thing about playing for Celtic” is.

He answers simply with a smile on his face: “The fans”.

Duffy is already on the road to becoming a real favourite with all of us.

His work rate and desire make him well liked. When you add in a few headed goals and the fact he’s one of our own, you’ve got yourself a real icon.

Many may laugh at the prospect of the defender following Albian Ajeti and netting in three consecutive games at the start of his Celtic career.

But you really wouldn’t bet against Duffy getting on the end of a set-piece tomorrow – and making it a hat-trick of strikes.

We would simply love to see it happen.
