Brighton defender Shane Duffy has revealed that he would love to play for Celtic. The Scottish Sun reported that Duffy answered questions on his Instagram account.
He answered ‘maybe one day’ when asked if he would ever play for Celtic.
Ideal solution to problem
Duffy would be a great signing for the Hoops. With doubt over the Celtic futures of Filip Benkovic and Dedryck Boyata, he would be an ideal solution to the centre-back problem.

The chances of the player actually making the move to Celtic Park seem slim at best, though. He has been a regular for Brighton this season, making 28 appearances.
There is also the small matter of his contract at the Premier League side running until 2023. That means the Hoops would have to spend a lot of money to sign the player.

Will only move if Brighton are relegated
Perhaps the only chance there is of a move occurring is if Brighton are relegated this season. The Seagulls are well clear of the relegation zone at the moment though, so that seems unlikely.

Back in the old days, there would perhaps have been a chance of a player swapping regular Premier League football in England for the Scottish Premiership.
Money has changed everything though, and with that transfers of players from the Premier League to Scotland have slowed to a crawl.
That doesn’t look likely to change anytime soon, so Duffy’s dream of playing for Celtic will remain just that.
