Celtic target George Baldock is apparently keen on a move to Parkhead this summer.
The Sheffield United right-back has been linked with a move to the Hoops in recent days. And, according to the Daily Mail, the defender is keen on making the switch from the English Premier League to the Scottish Premiership.
Baldock would be snubbing the chance to feature in the Premier League for the first time. The Blades managed to secure automatic promotion to the competition last season. Therefore, it’s perhaps a sign of the pulling power that Celtic do have if Baldock is wanting to make the switch.

The Daily Mail also believe that Celtic have managed to go in with an offer. The Daily Record, meanwhile, state that “unsubstantiated reports” claim Celtic have gone in with an offer of £3million.
Baldock made 27 appearances for Sheffield last season. Despite his many appearances, however, not all of them were at right-back. The versatile Baldock has often featured at right-mid for the now Premier League outfit.
Player power could give Celtic the edge
It remains to be seen just how much Baldock wants this move to go through. Player power could be a key advantage for Celtic if they want to nab him this summer.

The Hoops need to spend some serious cash on the right-back position this year. Therefore, a potential £3m being spent on it would be ideal, and Baldock provides some good pedigree with United.
As of yet, Baldock is the only right-back to have been linked with the club this summer. If this is Neil Lennon’s number one target, then it would be a solid start to the transfer business if we could get it done.
Of course, if Baldock does arrive at Parkhead, we could probably do with one more in as cover. Both Cristian Gamboa and Jeremy Toljan departed the club at the end of the season.

If Mikael Lustig leaves, we could still have no cover at right-back outside of Anthony Ralston. But all of that is still to be answered in any case.
For the moment, Baldock wants to come to Parkhead and Celtic seem keen on bringing him in. Hopefully, this doesn’t turn into a saga.
