Read More"Significant"; Big Callum McGregor worry for Celtic as Ange provides injury update on trio
Ange Postecoglou has shared an update on Celtic trio Yosuke Ideguchi, Callum McGregor and Liel Abada after a bruising encounter away to Alloa Athletic tonight.
Celtic were on the receiving end of some desperate challenges throughout the 90 minutes, with arms and tackles flying.
It’s a concern, especially considering some players are off on international duty and we’re also missing players like Kyogo.
Postecoglou told BBC Radio Scotland after the match [19:45]: “I think Liel Abada and Ideguchi should be okay. Callum is the one we’re most concerned about. We’ll just have to wait and see but it looks like it is significant.”
Meanwhile, he told reporter Andrew Maclean: “McGregor wasn’t in great shape. It’s not going to be short term.”
That is a worry, to say the least. McGregor is crucial to Celtic.
The midfielder went down with an apparent facial injury after taking a head knock, with the Celtic physio appearing to examine his cheekbone or jaw.

That could be nasty if there is a fracture or something else going on. We know that players can easily lose weeks of the season with such injuries, especially if serious treatment is needed.
Obviously, we’re speculating a bit. We don’t know the details. Fingers crossed that assessments eases Postecoglou’s fears a bit, but he didn’t sound particularly upbeat about it.
We’ll have the latest on the captain’s injury as soon as we hear more.
