Celtic are heading towards yet another title under Brendan Rodgers.

It has been a welcomed return for Rodgers in Glasgow, as normal service continues, in regards to Celtic dominating and Rangers struggling to even be second best.

There was the unusual situation of Rangers beating Celtic after the New Year, as recent results prove that the Ibrox horror show was merely a blip and the next derby meeting will prove this point further.

The Bhoys have won every game since, whilst Philippe Clement’s side have continued to drop points and are now 15 points behind the champions.

On Sunday, Rangers fans decided to walk out, in the 55th minute, in protest against the running of the club and, well, simply because they are second-best to Celtic.

And Simon Jordan discussed the latest goings-on in the hotbed of Scottish football.

Simon Jordan slams Rangers board amid Celtic success

Jordan was Crystal Palace owner during his time in the crazy football bubble and he explained that he ‘knows what success and failure look like’.

He savaged those who have run Rangers and how they ‘aren’t very impressive’, including highlighting how Celtic have ‘generated more revenue’ than their rivals, as he told talkSPORT (13/01/25 at 11:40 am).

From Ange Postecoglou to the man in the dugout now, it has been outstanding recruitment in the market from the powers that be at Parkhead and it has continued the success on the pitch.

“The question for Rangers is, what have they done with the money they have generated,” asked Jordan. “If it’s wasted, or not being spent, or being trousered by the ownership.

“The Celtic situation is that Celtic have generated far more revenue than Rangers. The questions have to be asked, is that a degree of competency from the (Rangers) board? I do think Rangers have been weak and inept. I think the outburst from Dave King highlighted how inept they were.

“I don’t think they were impressive (previous Rangers board members). I have lost a fortune at a football club, so I know what it takes to be successful and unsuccessful. Sometimes, if you are going to go to somebody and ask them for their opinion, go to somebody who has done both, so you know what success looks like and what failure looks like, and I know both, so I can have a rounded judgement – Right now, if you look at Rangers and Celtic, and you say ‘why are Rangers where they are?’ ‘Who is running it?’. You see the people who have sat there and run it. Well, they aren’t very impressive.”

Celtic and Rangers ‘problem’ is that they are ‘unique’ football clubs

The Glasgow derby is the biggest in the world, as this rivalry is deep-rooted and nothing like you have seen it before.

As it has been said many times, finishing second in Glasgow is like finishing last and Simon Jordan wanted to highlight the ‘unique’ nature of Celtic and Rangers.

He stated how the ‘problem’ with both clubs is the fact that they are so ‘unique’, as he also expressed some wishful thinking for the Gers and what they need to do to stop Celtic’s dominance.

“Deliver better,” responded Jordan on his message to Rangers. “The transparency side of things, you can pick up their account and see what money they get. The transparency side of things is about the clarity of thinking, in part a message and bring them with you.

“‘Okay, we aren’t going to have this Celtic domination any longer. We are going to raise more money and we are going to send it wiser. We are going to be more economic in our thinking and this is our vision’. It isn’t difficult to do, it’s only difficult to translate if you haven’t got any charisma and you can’t sell it.

“They have a wonderful fanbase, both of these clubs. A wonderful opportunity. Get a better CEO and make better decisions. The problem with these two unique football clubs is that they are unique football clubs.”
