Celtic will announce the signing of West Ham United forward Albian Ajeti later today – according to Sky Sports reporter Anthony Joseph.
The journalist has been at the forefront of all the latest developments in the Hoops’ pursuit of the Swiss striker, and now he has delivered another fascinating piece of insight.

Joseph took to Twitter on Thursday afternoon to announce that Celtic would complete their permanent move for Ajeti later in the day, before he went hunting for a new house.
Joseph then said that Ajeti had “always been Neil Lennon’s number one target” this summer and that the Hoops gaffer tried to sign him from Basel this time last year.
Celtic deserve credit for bringing in Ajeti
If the reports from Joseph are true – and we have no reason to doubt them – then Celtic deserve real credit for getting this impressive deal over the line.
The fact that the club will sign Ajeti on a permanent deal, rather than a loan, shows huge faith in him as well as big backing to Neil Lennon.
At 23, Ajeti has already sampled Champions League and international football, while he also won two league titles with Basel.
He was clearly clearly a player Lennon wanted, and the club have backed their boss by bringing him in.

It’s often easy to criticise Celtic’s transfer dealings. Most of the time it’s warranted. But sometimes you’ve got to take your hat off when we bring someone of real quality in.
Let’s just hope our new Swiss signing can hit the ground running.
In other news, Celtic boss Neil Lennon has discussed a one year loan deal with Shane Duffy.
