Just when will Christopher Jullien pull on a Celtic jersey again? That is a question that will be on the mind of Hoops fans as the club continues to navigate a hazardous schedule of domestic and European fixtures.

The player has been out of action since the win over Ross County in September, an absence of around two months. It has to be said that the Hoops have missed the player, who joined Celtic from Toulouse for £7m in 2019.

He might well have helped Shane Duffy deal with what has been a difficult start to his Celtic career. However, that hasn’t been the case, as he has been dealing with an ongoing back injury.

Travelled abroad to sort out injury

Indeed, Neil Lennon recently disclosed as reported by the Scottish Sun that the player has travelled to Germany to deal with his ongoing back issues.

However, Jullien doesn’t seem to be letting the situation getting him down. Indeed, he seems upbeat, judging by his most recent Twitter post.

It featured a photo of Jullien celebrating a Celtic goal with the one word ‘M.O.O.D’.

Could that indicate that Jullien’s back treatment has worked, and he can return to full training? It’s too early to tell. We will no doubt find out more when Neil Lennon does his press conference ahead of Celtic’s game against Sparta Prague on Thursday.

Need to be careful with back injuries

You need to be very careful with back injuries, especially ones which keep a player out of action for a while, such has been the case with Jullien.

However, it would be a real bonus for the team if Jullien was fit enough to return to the Hoops squad soon. Celtic have vastly improved in recent games since a host of players have returned to the squad and starting line-up.

Jullien returning would give Neil Lennon a welcome boost he hasn’t had for weeks – a surplus of defenders to choose from. That would be great news in the battle for 10 in a row.

In other news, Celtic shouldn’t regret Craig Gordon’s departure this summer.
