Some Celtic fans have been left delighted by former defender Efe Ambrose’s return to Scottish football.
Top six Scottish Premiership side Livingston announced today that the Nigerian international has signed on an 18-month deal, bolstering their defensive ranks ahead of a European qualification push this season.
Gary Holt’s team are currently in fifth position but are within striking distance of Aberdeen and Motherwell above them.
Ambrose made over 150 appearances for Celtic winning multiple trophies, including four league titles.
Perhaps not considered the most reliable of defenders, he was nonetheless a popular figure with plenty of supporters, especially those who enjoyed his interviews and personality off the pitch.
On the face of things, it’s a great signing for Livingston even though Ambrose hasn’t played much over the last 12 months after a difficult spell at Derby County.
Having an experienced operator who knows how to play in the league and win trophies should be a major boost to their chances of climbing the table.

He also had a spell at Hibs so will be under no illusions about what it takes to get stuck into the weekly grind of Scottish football.
Some Celtic fans are happy to see him get another chance in the Scottish top-flight, taking to Twitter today to share their thoughts on it all…
